Javarro "Coach Chez" Edwards

Class of 1992

BOARD MEMBER

Jay Edwards is a proud native of Chicago, IL. After finishing De La Salle Institute, Jay accepted a football scholarship to Morehouse College where he helped the Maroon Tigers win a share of the SIAC Championship in 1991. As a two-sport student-athlete, he also helped lead an effort to reestablish the Maroon Tiger baseball team at the College in 1991 after its absence of 10 years. Jay earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from Morehouse in 1992.

Corby Starr

BOARD MEMBER

As a native Atlantan and the only son of a Morehouse man and Spelmanite, Corby was destined to attend Morehouse after graduating from Feldwood High School in 1988. Joining the other members of the board, he helped reestablish the Maroon Tiger baseball program in 1991 after its extended hiatus. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree in 1992, Corby remained close to the program and led the effort to create the Maroon Tiger Homerun Club, Inc. supporting our student-athletes' growth on and off the field.

J. Todd Phillips

FOUNDING BOARD MEMBER

J. Todd Phillips began his Morehouse journey as a member of the illustrious "900 Deep" freshman class in the fall semester, 1993. The following spring, J. Todd earned a spot on the Morehouse varsity baseball team, further nurturing his lifelong love for the game. Since graduating from Morehouse with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, J. Todd has remained connected both to his alma mater and the game he loves. He is a founding board member of the Maroon Tiger Baseball Club and continues to support baseball & softball programs nationwide as a coach, league administrator, and tournament director.
